Bettina Falckenberg

Bettina Falckenberg , also Bettina Titt-Falckenberg , (born September 7, 1926 in Munich ; † June 20, 2020 ) was a German actress , pantomime artist and author .

Life

Falckenberg was born as Bettina Claudia Irene Falckenberg in Munich. Her father was the director and theater manager Otto Falckenberg ; her mother, his third wife, the sculptor and medal artist Gerda Mädler-Falckenberg.

She received acting lessons from her father Otto Falckenberg and appeared briefly as an actress at the Bavarian State Theater in Munich after the Second World War . In the 1951/52 season she played the role of Chrysis in the world premiere of the play Lysistrata (premiere: 4th July 1952) by Hans José Rehfisch at the Residenztheater in Munich . In the 1952/53 season she took on the little role of the girl in the first performance of the play Bernarda Albas Haus (premiere: December 1952).

Occasionally, Falckenberg was also in front of the camera. In the fairy tale film Little Brother and Sister (1953) she played the queen. In the film comedy Flimmerparade, shot in 1954 (first showing : March 1961), a compilation of excerpts from silent films , Bettina Falckenberg was seen in the frame story as an actress. Falckenberg's other film roles are not known.

Later, Bettina Falckenberg mainly worked as a pantomime. She performed with Jean Soubeyran and his pantomime ensemble , among others ; in television Soubeyran and Falkenberg were seen together. In 1965 she founded the pantomime class at the Folkwang University in Essen together with the mime artist Günter Titt . At that time - and still is - the only professional training for pantomimes in Germany. For many years she worked as an acting and pantomime teacher at the Folkwang University .

After her marriage to Günter Titt, she was named Bettina Titt-Falckenberg. Together with Titt, she also wrote a textbook for pantomime, The Art of Pantomime: Adventure and Challenge (1987). In it, Falckenberg also reports on her more than 35 years of experience as a pantomime. In 2005 she published a book under the title God is also traveling about her brother Wolfgang Falckenberg (1927–1995), about his mental illness and his suffering.
