Bettina Westle

Bettina Westle (* 1956 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German political scientist .

Her main areas of activity are empirical democracy research and social science methods. Her doctorate on the " Legitimacy of the Political System " took place in 1988 at the University of Mannheim , where she also completed her habilitation in 1997 on "Collective Identity in Germany". From 1997 to 2000 professorships followed in Bielefeld , Mainz and Nuremberg . In 2001 Westle was appointed to the Chair of Political Science at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg , and since 2005 she has held the Chair of Methods in Political Science and Empirical Democracy Research in Marburg . Bettina Westle is currently represented in various committees ( Allbus Advisory Board, Vox Switzerland Advisory Board, Presidium of the German Society for Election Research, etc.).

Westle is a member of the Presidium of the German Society for Election Research .
