Betzenhausen is a district of the Upper Swabian community of Lauben in the Unterallgäu district in Bavarian Swabia .

location

The wasteland is about four kilometers north of Lauben on a dead end . It is connected to Frickenhausen and Oberschönegg via the MN 32 district road.

To the east of Betzenhausen is the Im Kopf forest area . The landscape is otherwise agricultural around the hamlet.

history

The desert of Betzenhausen is likely to have originated in the 7th to 8th centuries. The settlement was first mentioned in 1279. It was owned by the Augsburg bishopric until the middle of the 14th century , before it came into the possession of Ytal Gueß. He sold the settlement in 1402 to Gerung Wilhaymer from Memmingen . Erhard Vöhlin , a Memmingen patrician , acquired the settlement in 1460 from Hans Rudolf and Hans Dietherr. The city of Memmingen acquired the settlement from the Vöhlins in 1520 along with the rest of the property around Frickenhausen . From there Betzenhausen came to the Unterhospital in 1547 , where it remained until the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803. Since then, the desert has belonged to the municipality of Lauben.

Specialty

A special feature of the wasteland of Betzenhausen is its postcode. She has the 87743 from Egg an der Günz and not the 87761 from Lauben in the Unterallgäu district.
