geography
About one kilometer east of the main town of Golmsdorf , houses in the Beutnitz district are located directly on the banks of the Gleise river and along the 2307 road . The Gleisetal is bordered by the southern slopes of the Tautenburger Forest and the northern slopes of the Großer Gleisberg .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document on May 29, 1219.
A branch of the medieval trade route once led near the desert of Hummelstedt via the Saalefurt coming from the direction of Erfurt through the village and on towards Bürgel via Gleisefurt to Altenburg . There was also a water mill in the village .
The stately home in Beutnitz had in the 15th century Berthold († 1495) and Karl von Techwitz (1515), whose graves are in the church. Other owners were Heinrich and Veit Dietrich von Holbach (1588), who bequeathed the estate to the Lords of Lichtenhain .
In the " Historisch-topographisches Taschenbuch von Jena und seine Umgebung " by JC Zenker , published in 1836 , it says that the place with the desert Mollwitz, [...] Naura, Golmsdorf opposite, on the left bank of the tracks, is a community in civil and ecclesiastical terms form. They count 67 houses, of which about 12 are on Naura, and 302 inhabitants. [...] Under Heinrich Reuss von Plauen zu Ronneburg, Beutnitz, like Golmsdorf, belonged to the Gleisberg Castle, according to the original document from 1377 in the municipality of Beutnitz.
On October 2, 1905, the Eisenberg-Porstendorf railway section with a train station in Beutnitz was put into operation and discontinued in 1969. Now the embankment is used as a regional cycle route after renovation.
