Techwitz (noble family)
The von Techwitz or Teichwitz were a noble Thuringian family with headquarters in Techwitz near Zeitz .
history
The noble family was first mentioned in a document with nobilis Eckbert von Techwitz in an episcopal Naumburg document from 1163. The family had estates in Neumark (near Weimar) (1622–1640), Ballstedt 1633, Beutnitz , Frohburg , Münchhofen, Gelmannsdorf , Stetten, Warta. With Christian von Techwitz auf Dragsdorf (today part of the community of Schnaudertal near Zeitz ) extinguished in the 18th century.
