Beverly Jo Scott (born May 15, 1959 in Deer Park, Alabama ), also known as BJ Scott , is a US- born singer-songwriter who now lives in Brussels .

biography

Growing up with blues , gospel and country music , young Beverly Jo Scott moved to the United States and eventually Europe, where she stayed in Brussels. She worked as a street musician, in bars and clubs, through to larger festivals. In 1991 their first album Honey and Hurricanes was released .

Beverly Jo Scott is compared to Janis Joplin or Patti Smith . She has appeared on stage with the likes of Neil Young , Roger McGuinn ( The Byrds ), Popa Chubby and James Brown .

Since 2011 Scott has been a juror in the Belgian version of the talent show The Voice , "The Voice Belgique". She also works for the Belgian classic rock channel "Classic 21".

She wrote the text for Rhythm Inside , the Belgian contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna. The singer Loïc Nottet achieved fourth place at the song contest on May 23, 2015 with the pop song he composed, Rhythm Inside .

On December 2, 2016, the compilation CD Lost in Paris Bluesband was released with her participation , which was recorded in a three-day session with guitarists Paul Personne, Robben Ford, Ron Thal, John Jorgenson and the Rhythm Section with Kevin Reveyrand and Francis Arnaud. This album contains thirteen songs, among others by Tom Waits, Bob Seger, Janis Joplin and Bob Dylan.
