Bhagwan Samaye Sansar Mein ( Hindi : भगवान समाये संसार में bhagavān samāye saṃsār meṃ ) is an Indian mythological and saints film by Satish Kumar from 1976. It deals loosely with Saint Eknath (1533-1599).

action

God Vishnu and his wife Lakshmi are informed by the messenger Narad of the atrocities committed by the priest Mahant against the inferior. Vishnu informs him that a follower named Eknath, the grandson of Chakrapani, had already been born in Paithan , who will ensure equality among people.

Eknath grows up in Paithan and is friends with the orphan Girija, who lives with her aunt. As the leader of a gang of children who steal laddus and mangoes and keep the whole place in suspense, he attracts the displeasure of priest Mahant. Guru Janardhan Swami takes him to his ashram , where he can reflect on religiosity. But after a short time he goes to meditate in the forest in search of God.

Time goes by and in Paithan, Eknath's childhood friend Girija is waiting for his return. But her aunt wants her to marry Amar, the priest Mahant's assistant, against which she successfully defends herself. Eknath's meditation pleases God Vishnu so much that he sends Eknath his messenger Narad and lets him bless him. Eknath marries Girija. Together with her he makes a pilgrimage to important religious temples - the Char Dham Dwarka , Badrinath , Puri and Rameswaram . Back in Paithan, he preaches and sings for ordinary people, whereas the priest only preaches for Brahmins. Eknath's concern for the poor and sick untouchables causes further trouble . Vishnu and Lakshmi mingle with the people in human form to observe what is happening up close. Mahant Eknath tries to seduce Eknath through the seduction skills of the dancer Kamini in order to discredit his holiness, but the plan fails. Eventually Mahant publicly accuses Eknath of being a fraud and puts him temporarily in jail.

With the Sudarshan Chakra , Vishnu chases the priest Mahant away. Purified, he returns with Eknath to the temple, where from then on everyone venerates Vishnu and Lakshmi.
