Architecture and history
The control room was probably built in the 14th century and consists of a round tower with a height of about 10 to 12 meters. Originally the height was 15 to 20 meters. At the top of the tower, the diameter is 4.80 to 5 meters. It is made of sandstone blocks and plastered. The Bicklingen desert was located in the vicinity of the control room . In addition to protecting the city of Quedlinburg, the control room also served to secure the transition over the Bicklingsbach, which runs a little further to the west .
More recently, a level access has been created and a spiral staircase has been installed, via which the tower can be climbed as a lookout tower .
