Bilhan Derin

Bilhan Derin (* 1971 in Çaycuma , Turkey ) is a German director and writer of short films. Her debut Ayla und die Tumpfhose was nominated for best short film at the Max Ophüls Festival in 2002. Another film based on his own script was awarded the title “valuable”.

Life

Born in Turkey, she has lived in Germany since 1972, initially in Saarland .

In 1999 Derin began studying directing at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin .

After her well-known debut Ayla und die Strumpfhose (2001), Banu (2002) followed, which was shown at the Bamberg Short Film Festival , with Aziza-A and Hülya Duyar (music: Geo Schaller ), Der einäugige Elephant (2003) and Warten auf die Chick Time (2004). The latter received the title “valuable” FBW in 2004 . The most recent work was Die Dolmetscherin (2008).

In addition, Derin had appearances as an actress in films by other directors. In Seyhan Derin's Untouched , she played the role of the Suna. In Eoin Moore's feature film Im Schwitzkasten (2005) she appeared as a flight attendant .
