William G. "Bill" Biggart (born July 20, 1947 in Berlin , † September 11, 2001 in New York ) was an American photojournalist and victim of the September 11, 2001 attacks . He became known posthumously for his photographs of the collapsing south tower of the World Trade Center in New York. He was the only journalist among the victims. Four days after his death, his remains were recovered, as well as a bag containing his cameras and the compact flash memory card from which the famous photos were recovered. After these were discovered, they were published on Newsweek on October 15, 2001 and can be viewed on the Internet.
