Bill Bowler (born September 25, 1974 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player and coach who worked for the Columbus Blue Jackets in the National Hockey League and the Krefeld Penguins in the German ice hockey league .

Career

Bill Bowler began his career as an ice hockey player with the Windsor Spitfires , for which he was active from 1991 to 1995 in the Canadian top junior league Ontario Hockey League . The attacker then played for five years in the International Hockey League , in which he was under contract with Las Vegas Thunder , the Houston Eros and the Manitoba Moose . In addition, the left guard ran in the 1997/98 season for the Hamilton Bulldogs in the American Hockey League . On August 3, 2000 Bowler received a contract as a free agent with the Columbus Blue Jackets , for which he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 2000/01 season , where he made two assists in nine games. The rest of the time in the Blue Jackets franchise he spent with their AHL farm teams Syracuse Crunch , Milwaukee Admirals and Norfolk Admirals . Although the center signed on July 18, 2002 with the Boston Bruins from the NHL, instead he switched to the Krefeld Penguins in the DEL , with whom he was German champion in the 2002/03 season . The Canadian then ended his active career at the age of 28. From 2005 to 2007 he worked as an assistant coach with the Windsor Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League, where he began his career as a junior player.
