Bill Prady
William Scott Prady (born June 7, 1960 in Detroit , Michigan , USA ) is an American screenwriter and film producer .
Life
Prady attended Cranbrook Kingswood School in Bloomfield Hills . He began writing for Jim Hensons Muppets in 1982 at the age of 22 and quickly established himself as a writer of comedies and sitcoms .
In August 2003, Prady also announced his interest in the Democratic candidacy for governor of California , but could not run due to a lack of votes (474 votes) for the election that was ultimately contested between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Gray Davis .

Awards
Prady was nominated for an Emmy in 1991 for The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson , and nine years later, in 2000, he received the WGA Award for an episode of Dharma & Greg . In 2015 an asteroid was named after him: (8630) Billprady .
In 2016, the Young Academy of Sweden awarded Bill Prady, together with David Saltzberg , Steve Molaro and Chuck Lorre, the Torsten Wiesel Midnight Sun Award for Distinguished Achievement in Promoting Science for 'The Big Bang Theory' .
