The Bimberi Peak , and Mount Bimberi called, is with 1913 m the highest mountain in the Australian Capital Territory . The closest places are Adaminaby some 37 km, Talbingo 45 km and Queanbeyan 52 km away.
The mountain is located in the Brindabella Range at the northern end of the Snowy Mountains on the border between New South Wales in Kosciuszko National Park and the Australian Capital Territory in Namadgi National Park .
The paved Boboyan Road leads to Bimberi Peak after 19 km, the last 2 km are unpaved. Bimberi Peak can also be reached on hiking trails. Climbing requires mountaineering skills. There is no marked path to the mountain peak.
The mountain top is above the tree line . There are strong winds there and in winter the mountain is covered with snow.
