The Cinderella Warbler ( Myiothlypis bivittata , Syn .: Basileuterus bivittatus ) is a small songbird from the wood warbler family (Parulidae).

features

The wingspan is 6.1 to 7.2 centimeters in the male; in the female 6 to 6.6 centimeters. Adult warblers and young birds from the first year, depending on the subspecies, have a yellow to orange vertical stripe and black lateral stripes. The upper side plumage is olive green; the underside plumage yellow. The beak is small, pointed and blackish-gray; the feet are pale orange in color.

Occurrence

The distribution area extends from Venezuela through Guyana , Peru , Brazil , Bolivia to Argentina . There they occur in small groups or in pairs, especially in subtropical cloud forests and especially in Peru in bamboo thickets at heights of 700 to 1800 meters.

Subspecies

There are three recognized subspecies:

  • Myiothlypis bivittata bivittata (d'Orbigny & Lafresnaye, 1837) - From southern Peru to central Bolivia
  • Myiothlypis bivittata roraimae Sharpe , 1885 - Southern Venezuela to the west of Guyana and the north of Brazil
  • Myiothlypis bivittata argentinae room , 1949 - south-central Bolivia to the north of Argentina
