Binette Schroeder
Binette Schroeder (born December 5, 1939 in Hamburg ) is a German graphic artist and children's book illustrator.
Schroeder studied commercial art from 1957 to 1960 at a private school in Munich and from 1961 to 1966 at the School of Design in Basel. From 1968 to 1971 she lived as a freelance graphic designer, portrait photographer and illustrator in Berlin and since 1971 with her husband Peter Nickl in Munich.

- 1969 - Golden apple of the Biennale of Illustrations in Bratislava for Lupinchen
- 1980 - Honored for the American edition of Baron von Münchhausen's The Wonderful Journeys and Adventures as “Best Illustrated Children's Books of the Year” by the New York Times
- 1989 - Awarded the Badge of the Illustration Biennale in Bratislava
- 1990 - Troisdorf picture book prize for The Frog King
- 1997 - Award from the Book Art Foundation
- 1997 - Special Illustration Award of the German Youth Literature Award for her complete works
- 1998 - Nomination for the Hans Christian Andersen Prize for her complete works
- 2000 - Prix Octogone for her complete oeuvre
- 2003 - Nomination for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award for her complete works
- 2004 - Grand Prize of the German Academy for Children's and Young People's Literature for their complete works
