Live and act

Adamczak was part of the Frankfurt group Sinistra! - Radical left .

In 2004 Adamczak's children's book Communism was published , in which, based on Karl Marx, she explains for children capitalism and various, mostly failed attempts at communism . In an epilogue, the text leaves the style of a children's book and provides the theoretical background. Your lecture on the book from April 25, 2015 at the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Berlin is available as a video recording on YouTube. The volume was published in English by MIT Press in March 2017 , which led to a shit storm on the part of the American right and conservative circles.

In the essay Yesterday Morning published in 2007, Adamczak deals with the history of the communist revolution since the October Revolution . The focus is on the necessary mourning for the dead of the revolution, often rejected by the communist side. Adamczak sees this as a failure, not only with the end of the USSR , but with the extradition of anti-fascists to the German National Socialists , the Hitler-Stalin Pact in 1939, the Great Terror in 1937, the phase of Stalinism and already at the beginning 1917:

“Without going through the history of revolutionary attempts, there will be no more revolutionary temptation. Grief , dream and trauma , the third of which closes around the second and could only be softened by the first ever opening again. Not only the end of history weighs on the possibility of communist desire, but above all the end of the revolution. Not only in 1989, but also, even more, in 1939, 1938 and the following until 1924, until 1917. "

Together with Konstanze Schmitt she developed the piece Everybody Needs Only You. Love in times of capitalism , which was performed in December 2019 in the Kreuzberg Theater Hebbel am Ufer .

Bini Adamczak lives in Berlin and is a member of the Jour fixe initiative berlin .
