The port of Binic at low tide

Binic ( Breton : Binig ) is a town and commune Déléguée in the French community binic-Étables-sur-Mer with 3,967 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Côtes-d'Armor in the region of Brittany . The inhabitants are called Binicais and Binicaises .

The municipality of Binic was merged with the former municipality of Étables-sur-Mer with effect from March 1, 2016 and merged to form Commune nouvelle Binic-Étables-sur-Mer . It belonged to the arrondissement of Saint-Brieuc and the canton of Étables-sur-Mer .

geography

Binic is located on the Côte du Goëlo bay, a side bay of the Baie de Saint-Brieuc on the river Ic . Binic also has a marina that can only be used at high tide. The districts of Binic are called Fontaines-Gicquel , Ville-Biard , Ville-Even , Ville-Garnier , Ville-Gilbert and Ville-Jacob .

Attractions

One of Binic's attractions is the Notre-Dame de Bon Voyage church . It was built in 1821 on the site of the Chapelle Saint-Julien chapel. Another attraction is the chapel Chapelle Saint-Gilles . Binic also has three beaches.
