The beach at Étables-sur-Mer

Étables-sur-Mer ( Breton : Staol ) is a town and commune Déléguée in the French community Binic-Étables-sur-Mer with 3,101 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Côtes-d'Armor in the region of Brittany . The inhabitants are called Tagarins and Tagarines .

geography

Étables-sur-Mer is located on the bay of Saint-Brieuc and is characterized by agriculture. The municipality includes the beaches of Plage des Godelins , Plage du Moulin and Plage du Vau Chaperon .

history

The municipality was formerly called Étables-les-Grottes, which was a reference to the caves in the area.

The municipality of Étables-sur-Mer was merged with the former municipality of Binic with effect from March 1, 2016 and merged to form Commune nouvelle Binic-Étables-sur-Mer. It belonged to the arrondissement of Saint-Brieuc and the canton of Étables-sur-Mer .
