Birgit Jeggle-Merz

Birgit Jeggle-Merz (* 1960 in Münster ) is a German liturgical scholar.

Life

From 1978 to 1984 she studied Catholic theology at the University of Bonn and the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and obtained a diploma in Catholic theology. She completed additional studies in psychology and Caritas science with a diploma in Caritas studies and Christian social work. From 1984 to 1988 she worked as a research assistant in the liturgical science and pastoral liturgy department of the theological faculty of the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. In 1995 he received his doctorate in liturgical science at the PTH Benediktbeuern under Angelus Häußling . From 2001 to 2006 she was an academic adviser at the chair for dogmatics and liturgical science at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, before she was appointed full professor for liturgical science at the Theological University of Chur and associate professor for liturgical science in 2006 of the Theological Faculty of the University of Lucerne .

Her main research interests are practical liturgy as theologia experimentalis and How to celebrate liturgy today? Worship and Society.
