Birgit Reinecke

Birgit Reinecke (born April 8, 1944 in Glückstadt ; † May 14, 2013 in Berlin-Zehlendorf ) was a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Labor Court .

Life

Birgit Reinecke studied law at the universities in Berlin , Munich and Bonn . During her legal clerkship , she was also a research assistant at the University of Bonn under Friedhelm Gaul . After the second state examination in 1973, she became a judge in North Rhine-Westphalia , where she worked at the labor court in Bonn and at the labor court in Siegburg . In 1991 she became director of the Siegburg Labor Court.

On January 1st, 1997 Birgit Reinecke became a judge at the Federal Labor Court. There she belonged to the 9th Senate, since 2002 as deputy chairwoman. She exerted particular influence on the highest court rulings on part-time work , maternity protection , parental leave and the right to testify . She was also a member of the Judges' Council and the Presidium, as well as deputy press spokeswoman for the Federal Labor Court. She retired on April 30, 2009.

In addition to her judicial work, Birgit Reinecke published on labor law . Worth mentioning is a monograph on human resources work as well as contributing to comments on the Maternity Protection and Parental Leave Act and on collective bargaining law .
