Birte Wentzek (born February 8, 1983 in Hagen ) is a German actress .

life and career

Wentzek completed her training at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater . Until 2007 she played at the Thalia Theater Hamburg as well as at the Bremen Theater.

From April 2007 to December 2008 Wentzek had in the ZDF - Telenovela Path to Happiness , the role of Hansen Meike than half sister of the main character of the second season Ben Petersen held. In January 2011 she was seen in an episode role in the production Großstadtrevier in Hamburg .

In February 2010 and 2011, Wentzek was in the theater with Hugo Grimm in the role of Sarah in Harold Pinter's The Lover on the stage of the Berlin Glass Box. From September 23 to October 30, 2010 followed a role in the German premiere of Rain Man ; she performed daily with Rufus Beck at the Alten Schauspielhaus Stuttgart . Because of its great success, the piece went on tour from November to December 2011 and January to February 2012. Furthermore, in December 2010 and January 2011 she toured with the Landgraf touring theater. She played at the side of Ilja Richter in the play Monsieur Ibrahim and the flower of the Koran by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt . From March 17th to April 23rd 2011 Wentzek was again on stage with Ilja Richter, among others; this time at the Alten Schauspielhaus Stuttgart with the play Sixteen Injured by Eliam Kraiem.

From October 2014 to April 2016 Wentzek was seen as Penelope “Poppy” Schweitzer in the ARD -Telenovela Sturm der Liebe . She had a short comeback on September 20 as Poppy in the 3000th episode.

Since 2013, Wentzek has been running her own practice in Berlin-Kreuzberg as a psychotherapeutic alternative practitioner .

From summer 2009 to summer 2017 Wentzek was in a relationship with her fellow actor Hugo Grimm and has a child with him (* 2014).
