1,4-bis (2-methylstyryl) benzene or bis-MSB is a wavelength shifter . It is added to organic scintillators in order to shift their emission spectrum into the visible range. The emission maximum is 420 nm, the decay time is 1.2 ns, which is slightly shorter than for POPOP .
