Bismarck Museum Friedrichsruh in the building of the old country house.

The Bismarck Museum Friedrichsruh is a museum in Friedrichsruh , a district of the municipality of Aumühle , Duchy of Lauenburg , in Schleswig-Holstein . It has objects on the life and work of Otto von Bismarck and makes them accessible to the public.

location

The museum is located on the L 208 in Schleswig-Holstein in the section from Grande to Aumühle in a half-timbered house on the roadside in Friedrichsruh.

history

The exhibition is based on objects from the Bismarck Museum Schönhausen / Elbe from 1927, was initially shown in the Villa Alter Forsthof and since 1933 in the Marstall of Schloss Friedrichsruh. The museum in the old country house was opened in 1951 and has been looked after by the Otto von Bismarck Foundation since 2009 . It includes 350 exhibits.

During a tour of the museum you can see: the maps of the different customs areas, the documents in Bismarck's career, a picture of the Ems dispatch and Bismarck's press release, the pistols of the two attacks on Bismarck, his uniform and his boots, his numerous medals , his study with a sofa for him and two leather divans for his two dogs , his desk, the picture of Anton von Werner : The Proclamation of the German Empire (January 18, 1871) in the version of 1885 and a splendid armor.
