The Bistensee is a lake in the Hüttener Berge Nature Park in Schleswig-Holstein .

location

The lake, which is located west of the larger Wittensee , is around 2.5 km long and 1 km wide and is 12  m above sea level. NN . It originated in the Vistula Ice Age . The terminal moraines surrounding both lakes reach heights of up to 72 m.

The Bistensee belongs to the Eider river basin district .

The Bistensee is very rich in fish and offers protection to many birds during the breeding season thanks to its pronounced reed belt .

In the village of Bistensee there is a campsite and a swimming area on the lake shore. The area around the Bistensee is easily accessible via a hiking trail.
