Diocese of Chalon
The diocese of Chalon ( lat. : Dioecesis Cabillonensis ) was one in France situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Chalon-sur-Saone .
history
The Diocese of Chalon was established in the 4th century. The first bishop was Donatus.
The Diocese of Chalon was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Lyon as a suffragan . In 1772 the Diocese of Chalon comprised 220 parishes .
On November 29, 1801, the Diocese of Chalon was dissolved as a result of the Concordat of 1801 by Pope Pius VII with the Papal Bull Qui Christi Domini and the territory was annexed to the Diocese of Autun .
