The Diocese of Zhaoxian ( Latin : Dioecesis Ciaoscienensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Zhaoxian in the People's Republic of China .

history

Pope Pius XI founded the Apostolic Prefecture Chaohsien with the Breve Ex apostolico munere on March 18, 1929 from cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Chengting . On January 11, 1932, she was raised to the rank of Vicariate Apostolic .

With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised to the diocese on April 11, 1946. In 2010 it counted 60,000 Catholics, 60 priests, 124 religious sisters, 170 small and 52 large seminarians and 145 churches and places of worship.
