The Diocese of Chifeng ( Latin : Dioecesis Cefomensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Chifeng in the People's Republic of China .
history
Pope Pius XI founded the Apostolic Prefecture Chihfeng with the Breve Romani Pontifices on January 21, 1932 from cessions of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Jehol . With the Apostolic Constitution Per Apostolicas Litteras it was raised to the diocese on April 21, 1949.
In 1990, for the first time since 1957, Andreas Yu Zhu Wen was ordained a Chinese Catholic Patriotic Bishop, recognized by Rome.
