The diocese Jinzhou ( lat. : Dioecesis Geholensis ) is in the People's Republic of China Located Roman Catholic diocese based in Jinzhou .

history

The diocese of Jinzhou was on December 21, 1883 by Pope Leo XIII. Established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Mongolia as the Apostolic Vicariate of Eastern Mongolia . In 1922 the Apostolic Vicariate of Eastern Mongolia gave up parts of its territory to establish the Apostolic Prefecture of Chifeng . The Apostolic Vicariate of Eastern Mongolia was renamed the Apostolic Vicariate Jinzhou on December 3, 1924 . On July 9, 1928, the Jinzhou Vicariate Apostolic gave parts of its territory to establish the Mission sui juris Qiqihar . Another assignment of territory took place on August 2, 1929 to establish the Apostolic Prefecture of Siping .

The Apostolic Vicariate Jinzhou was on April 11, 1946 by Pope Pius XII. raised to a diocese with the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Shenyang as a suffragan .
