The Diocese of Zhouzhi ( Latin : Dioecesis Ceucevensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Zhouzhi in the People's Republic of China .
history
Pope Pius XI founded the Apostolic Prefecture Chowchich on June 17, 1932 from cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Sianfu . It was elevated to a diocese on May 10, 1951.
On January 25, 1982, Father Paul Fan Yufei , who died on April 5, 1995, was illegally ordained a bishop. The successor official Bishop Alfonsus Guangyan Yang , bishop since December 17, 1995, died on September 4, 2004, and was succeeded by the Bishop of Xi'an as Apostolic Administrator . In October 2005, secret bishop Joseph Wu Qinjing was ordained a bishop.
