The diocese of Irinjalakuda ( Latin Dioecesis Irinialakudensis ) is a diocese of the Syro-Malabar Church, united with the Roman Catholic Church, with its seat in Irinjalakuda in India . It covers part of the Thrissur district in the Indian state of Kerala .

history

Pope Paul VI founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Trichuriensis eparchiae on June 22, 1978 from cession of territory of the Eparchy Trichur ; it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Ernakulam-Angamaly as a suffragan diocese.

On May 18, 1995 it became part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archeparchy of Trichur.
