The Bistum Karonga ( lat. : Dioecesis Karonganus ) is in Malawi preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Karonga .

history

The Diocese of Karonga was founded on July 21, 2010 by Pope Benedict XVI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Quo in Malavio from cessions of territory of the diocese of Mzuzu and subordinated to the archdiocese of Blantyre as a suffragan . First Bishop was Martin Anwel Mtumbuka .

On February 9, 2011, the Diocese of Karonga was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Lilongwe as a suffragan.
