The Diocese of Luoyang ( Latin : Dioecesis Loiamensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Luoyang in the People's Republic of China .

history

Pope Pius XI founded with the Brief Nobis ex alto the Apostolic Prefecture of Loyang on 25 May 1929. annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Zhengzhou . The mission was entrusted to the Xaverian missionaries from Parma . On January 28, 1935, she was raised to the rank of Apostolic Vicariate with the Bull Succrescente in this .

With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised to the diocese on April 11, 1946. On September 10, 1987, the secret bishop Pierre Li Hongye was consecrated, who died on Easter vigil on April 23, 2011. In 2011 the diocese had around 10,000 believers, thirty priests and more than 50 religious.
