Diocese of Mâcon
The Diocese of Mâcon ( lat. : Dioecesis Matisconensis ) was one in France situated Roman Catholic diocese , based in Macon .
history
The diocese of Mâcon was established in the 6th century. The first bishop was Placide .
The diocese of Mâcon was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Lyon as a suffragan . In 1765 the diocese of Mâcon comprised 200 parishes .
On November 29, 1801, the diocese of Mâcon was dissolved as a result of the Concordat of 1801 by Pope Pius VII with the papal bull Qui Christi Domini and the territory was annexed to the Archdiocese of Lyon and the Diocese of Autun .
