The diocese Rutana ( lat. : Dioecesis Rutanus ) is an in Burundi preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Rutana .

history

The Diocese of Rutana was founded on January 17th, 2009 by Pope Benedict XVI. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Ad aptius from cedings of the dioceses of Bururi and Ruyigi and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Gitega as a suffragan . First Bishop was Bonaventure Nahimana .
