The Diocese of Xinyang ( Latin : Dioecesis Siniamensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Xinyang in the People's Republic of China .

history

Pope Pius XI founded the Apostolic Prefecture Sinyangchow with the Breve Ex hac divi on December 15, 1927 from cessions of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate Kaifeng . On March 2, 1933, it lost part of its territory for the benefit of the establishment of the Zhumadian Apostolic Prefecture .

On April 25, 1933, she was promoted to the Apostolic Vicariate . With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised to the diocese on April 11, 1946. At least until 1993, the diocese never had a bishop again after the Steyler missionaries were driven out in 1950.
