Diocese of Tréguier
The diocese Tréguier ( lat. : Dioecesis Trecorensis ) was one in France situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Tréguier .
history
The diocese of Tréguier was established in the 6th century. The first bishop was Wilhelm I ( Guillaume I er ). In 1649 a seminary was built. The diocese of Tréguier was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Tours as a suffragan .
In 1761 the Diocese of Tréguier comprised 130 parishes . It was divided into two archdeaconates : Tréguier and Plougastel .
On November 29, 1801, the Diocese of Tréguier was dissolved as a result of the Concordat of 1801 by Pope Pius VII with the Papal Bull Qui Christi Domini and the territory was annexed to the dioceses of Saint-Brieuc and Quimper .
