Bittou is both a commune ( French commune urbaine ) and a department encompassing the same area in the West African state of Burkina Faso in the Center-Est region and the province of Boulgou . The municipality has 72,053 inhabitants in 27 villages and five sectors of the main town, mostly Bissa .

In Bittou there is a customs post for the border crossing with Togo .
