Marcus Pürk (born September 21, 1974 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian national soccer player and current soccer coach .
Career
Marcus Pürk began his football career at Wiener Austria . He made his Bundesliga debut on September 5, 1992 against FC Stahl Linz . The midfielder won the championship with the violets in his first season and won the ÖFB Cup a year later in 1994 . The Austrian was then lured away by Rapid , where he scored 13 goals this season straight away in 1994/95 . Marcus Pürk won again the ÖFB Cup and made a short debut in the national team under Herbert Prohaska on April 26, 1995 , where he also scored a 7-0 goal in the European Championship qualification against Liechtenstein .
Marcus Pürk finally moved to Real Sociedad in 1995 , where he played a total of 30 times in the Primera División . In 1996 he returned to Austria to Sturm , where he again won the ÖFB Cup before switching back to Rapid in 1997. This time, Purk stayed in Hütteldorf for two years until he was brought in by TSV 1860 Munich in 1999 . Plagued by injuries, he made a total of 50 appearances in the German Bundesliga and, with the Munich team, also took part in the UEFA Cup. On August 21, 2002, Marcus Pürk was able to look forward to his second appearance in the national team against Switzerland .
After returning to Austria, Marcus Pürk made his last appearance in the Bundesliga for Admira in 2005 and then ended his career in the Regionalliga Ost with Vienna . In 2007 he was brought back from ASK Schwadorf to professional football in the first division , but in 2008 he was handed over to the cooperation club Admira.
In the autumn of 2008 he switched to SV Stockerau (1st Lower Austria Regional League), where he wanted to gain coaching experience in youth work alongside his work as a player. However, after only one year he switched back to his first place of work - the 1st Simmeringer SC - which he left after six months and moved to SV St. Margarethen in the 2nd Burgenland league. With which he became champion of the 2nd division north and BFV-Cup winner in 2010/11.
At the end of 2014 he took over ASK Mannersdorf as sporting director . In July 2017 he took over his first club as head coach, SV Sigleß .
