The Bivacco Marco Dal Bianco is a bivouac hut in the Marmolata group in Trentino . It belongs to the Italian Academic Alpine Association (CAAI), a section of the Club Alpino Italiano (CAI) and has 9 beds.

location

The bivouac hut is located at an altitude of 2727  m slm about 200 m south of the Passo Ombretta on the border with the province of Belluno between the Rosaliatal in the west and the Ombretta valley in the east. It serves as a traditional base for the ascent of the Marmolada -Südwand.

history

The bivouac box was built in 1968 and named after CAAI member Marco Dal Bianco, who was killed in a car accident. In August 2017, the outer shell was replaced by a zinc-coated outer shell. In addition, a new wooden floor was laid inside and the interior walls were laid out with OSB panels .
