Björn Wilhelm Bernadotte , Count af (von) Wisborg (born June 13, 1975 in Scherzingen , Switzerland ) is honorary managing director of the Lennart Bernadotte Foundation , which owns the flower island of Mainau ( Baden-Württemberg ).

Life

Björn Bernadotte is the second of the five Bernadotte children who came from the marriage of Lennart Bernadotte († 2004) to Sonja Haunz († 2008).

Study and job

Bernadotte attended the Rudolf Steiner School Kreuzlingen Konstanz and should have taken over Mainau as the oldest son. After years of internship in parks, gardens, forestry and tourism, he decided to pursue his interest in social work and studied social education at the University of Education in Rorschach , Switzerland . He completed his bachelor thesis in the summer semester 2006 under the title WWW.SOZ-PÄDIMNETZ.COM: Opportunities, Risks and Limits of Internet Consulting. He also completed an apprenticeship at the Institute for Commercial and Vocational Education . Together with the physiotherapist Edwin Arnold, he founded the company called Mainau Aktiv . There he offers seminars for managers in communication, team building and health. He is also president of the Mainau Academy , a training center for nature and the environment.

Bernadotte has been a managing board member of the Lennart Bernadotte Foundation since January 2007. His older sister Bettina Bernadotte took over the operational management of the tourist attraction on Lake Constance in 2007. Both are authorized to represent managing director of Mainau GmbH .

Bernadotte is a founding member of the European Cultural Forum Mainau and gardening for everyone .

marriage

Björn Bernadotte met the Austrian Sandra Angerer (* 1977 in St. Gallen), who grew up in Switzerland, and became engaged to her in June 2008. Since July 2007 she has been managing director of Gärtnern für Alle e. V. and the head of the Green School Mainau , which prepares young people with learning disabilities for working life, and the L-point environmental education on the island of Mainau.

The wedding took place on May 7th, 2009 in the castle church on the island of Mainau. Queen Silvia of Sweden and Crown Princess Victoria attended the celebrations . The wedding date was chosen with care: Sonja Bernadotte would have turned 65 on May 7th. Björn's father, Count Lennart Bernadotte, would have turned 100 on May 8th.

He and his wife lived together in the baroque castle on the island. In November 2018, the couple's separation was announced.
