Blaby is a district in the county of Leicestershire in England . The administrative seat is the municipality of Blaby . Other significant places are Cosby , Countesthorpe , Glenfield , Enderby and Stoney Stanton . Glenfield has been the county seat of Leicestershire since Leicester became an independent borough.
From 1894 Blaby was a rural district of Leicestershire. In 1913, Oadby was separated and raised to an urban district . In 1935 Blaby lost some areas to the City of Leicester, but received part of the disbanded Hinckley Rural District .
