Black Market Music is the third album by Placebo , which was released on October 6, 2000 on Hut Records (EMI).

After the end of their successful Without You I'm Nothing tour in October 1999 and a break of only five months, they began to work on a new album in March 2000. On July 17th the first single "Taste in Men" was released, which already showed that the band had developed their style towards rockier sounds. In pieces like “Blue American” and “Narcoleptic” you can still find the melancholy side of their music.

With the video for their second single "Slave to the Wage" they won various online surveys in the category "Best Video of the Year 2000". The tour for the album began on August 4, 2000 and lasted about a year. As on the predecessor Without You I'm Nothing, there is a bonus track after the last track.
