Black Sonic was an alternative rock and metal band from Triesen , Liechtenstein , founded in 2003 under the name Black Sonic Prophets , renamed Black Sonic in 2008 and disbanded in 2012.

history

The band was founded in 2003 under the name Black Sonic Prophets by the singer and guitarist Stefan "Mäthi" Mathis, the guitarist Marco Gassner, the bassist Raimund Tschol and the drummer Roland Testi. In 2005, The Broken EP was released , which was produced by Jeff Collier . In addition, the band has now held international appearances. In 2005 the DVD The Official Bootleg was released . Through appearances in the opening act of Negative , Exilia and Stoune Sour , the band reached a contract with Playground Music , which in 2006 released the debut album Out of the Light - Into the Night . The album was particularly successful in Scandinavia , which made it possible for Mathis to sing the song I Don't Care by Apocalyptica on Area4 as a singer in this band in 2008 . At the end of 2008 the band shortened their name to Black Sonic.

Then the band went back to the studio with Jeff Collier to record their second album. After the recordings were completed in early 2009, the album 7 Deadly Sins was released at the end of June . In March 2012, the band announced their breakup.

style

According to laut.de , when the band was founded, they orientated themselves strongly towards bands such as Guns N 'Roses , Nickelback and Metallica . On Deadly Sins they comparable the band with groups like Backyard Babies and The Hellacopters . Christof Leim from Metal Hammer stated in his review of 7 Deadly Sins that the band is between Metallica at the time of the black album and Shinedown . In addition, a strong HIM influence can be heard. The riffs would have a rough sound. The theme song is reminiscent of the Foo Fighters , while the intro riff evokes memories of the song I am the Law by Anthrax .
