Black Star Riders is a rock band from the United States formed in 2012 .

history

In 2012, Scott Gorham, Damon Johnson, Marco Mendoza and singer Ricky Warwick decided, all members of the band Thin Lizzy , to record new songs. But since the other two members of Thin Lizzy, Darren Wharton and Brian Downey did not want to participate and out of respect for the late Phil Lynott, the six decided in December 2012 to form the band Black Star Riders.

Although now playing under Black Star Riders, this should not mean the end of Thin Lizzy. Thin Lizzy is to be retained, whether with individual shows or in the form of Thin Lizzy classics that are played on individual shows.

The Black Star Riders were signed by Nuclear Blast Records and played with the cast until Mendoza left in 2014, Gorham and Johnson on lead guitar, Mendoza on bass, Warwick as singer and guitarist and with Jimmy DeGrasso on drums. The bassist Marco Mendoza was replaced by Robbie Crane (formerly a member of Ratt , Vince Neil and Lynch Mob ).

Her debut album All Hell Breaks Loose was released in 2013 by Nuclear Blast Records and contains 12 songs including a bonus song for a CD special edition. The album was produced by Kevin Shirley in Los Angeles, the first single was Bound for Glory .

The Black Star Riders played their first concert on May 30, 2013 in Milton Keynes . This was followed by appearances at the Hi Rock Festival, the Sweden Rock Festival, the Download Festival and a European tour with 39 shows. In late 2013, the band announced that they were working on their second album. Publication is scheduled for 2015. The album will not be produced by Def Leppard- Frontmann Joe Elliott as originally announced , but by Nick Raskulinecz .
