Lynch Mob is a band led by guitarist George Lynch . He founded it in 1989 after separating from Dokken .

Career

After separating from Dokken for the first time, Lynch founded the group Lynch Mob together with Dokken drummer Mick Brown and reoriented themselves musically: The lyrics dealt with different topics than with Dokken, the music became more sophisticated, the guitars more prominent. The band, consisting of Lynch, Oni Logan (vocals and harmonica), Anthony Esposito (bass) and Mick Brown (drums), released their debut album, Wicked Sensation, on Elektra Records in 1990 and was produced by Max Norman and Lynch Mob . The album was quite successful, making it to number 46 on the Billboard 200 and staying in the charts for 23 weeks.

The second album, which was given the simple title Lynch Mob , appeared after a singer change in 1992. Robert Mason took over the vocals; the album Keith Olsen had produced included a cover version of Queen's song Tie Your Mother Down . This album also reached the charts, but had less success than its predecessor, which is mainly due to the emerging grunge . After a tour following the release, Lynch and Brown returned to Dokken and broke up Lynch Mob.

After his renewed engagement with Dokken, which began in 1995, Lynch started the Lynch Mob project again in 1998, this time with the album Smoke This , which was recorded with a completely different line-up and with which Lynch attempted to combine elements of hip-hop , industrial and other sounds with rock songs combine. The album was not commercially successful, partly because Lynch no longer succeeded in getting a major label interested in his group; Another reason was that the fans did not want to support the change of direction and turned away from the group.

Disappointed with the failure of this experiment took Lynch another project in attack: Together with former Dokken bassist Jeff Pilson, who now at Dio played, and drummer Michael Frowein they took as "LP" (Lynch / Pilson) album Wicked Underground on , which appeared in 2003.

In the same year, Lynch gathered again Robert Mason, Anthony Esposito and drummer Michael Frowein to record the album REvolution with them as Lynch Mob . The tracks on it were all from Lynch's past at Dokken and with Lynch Mob; the group resumed them all to give them a more contemporary and modern look.

Another Lynch Mob album called Smoke and Mirrors was released in 2009 , recorded by Lynch, Oni Logan, bassist Marco Mendoza and drummer Scot Coogan, who was a member of Nikki Sixx 's band Brides of Destruction . In January 2011 the band was on tour, with Robbie Crane ( Ratt ) playing bass and Mick Brown playing drums. In 2012 Lynch Mob recorded an EP called Sound Mountain Sessions .
