Blairgowrie is a place on the south coast of the Australian state of Victoria . In 2016, 2312 people lived in the village.

Blairgowrie is located in the Australian state of Victoria on the Mornington Peninsula , which extends between Port Phillip Bay and the Pacific Ocean and the Bass Strait in the south. The place borders on Sorrento to the west and Rye to the east . The coastline is approximately 6.3 kilometers, of which 2.5 kilometers fall on the shore of the bay in the north and 3.8 kilometers on the open sea in the south. The beach consists mostly of sand.

History and etymology

The place was named after Blairgowrie Castle in Scotland.

The first post office in Blairgowrie opened on November 1, 1947. It was closed on August 2, 1993.

The one with the Pulitzer Prize honored Rhys Isaac died 2010 in Blairgowrie.
