Three are one too many is a 13-part German television series that was first broadcast by ZDF in 1977 . Barbara Noack wrote the script . The series is about two men competing for the same woman.
content
The architect Benedikt Kreuzer and the teacher Peter Melchior live in the same house. Both are relatively new to their job. The unemployed Benedikt tries to get jobs while Peter tries to gain a foothold in the school. Both are also still competitors for the favor of the potter Charlotte Möller, known as Karlchen. This befriends both of them. But the men are not thrilled to have to share Karlchen with someone. Charlotte works in the field and travels a lot. A life-size mannequin named Mr. Müller-Mallersdorf sits in the passenger seat of her Renault 4 so that she does not attract attention at first sight as a woman traveling alone .

The author Barbara Noack was best known for her novel Der Bastian (1974), which was also published as an early evening series. As with "Bastian", Rudolf Jugert directed the film .
Most of the recordings took place in Viechtach in the Lower Bavarian district of Regen . The small farm that Benedikt and Peter live in and renovate is located in the Viechtach district of Eben . Charlotte's stepparents' condominium in Munich is on Kafkastraße in Munich-Neuperlach . The last episode was shot mainly in Passau . The half-hour episodes ran on Thursdays at 6:20 p.m.
The series was released on DVD in 2014.
