Renate Schubert (born April 11, 1939 in Glatz , Lower Silesia , Germany ; now Poland ) is a German actress .

Life

Renate Schubert studied journalism for a few semesters and took acting lessons from Eva Fiebig and Joseph Offenbach . This was followed by engagements as a theater actress in Hamburg , Bonn , Bruchsal and Cologne . Later she only worked as a freelancer.

In 1978 she played in Jean Cocteau's monodrama The Beloved Voice at the Central Bonn Theater . In 1983 she took on the role of Doris, the wife of the "devil" Elias, in the play Der Blaue Boll at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg ; Directed by Michael Gruner .

Schubert worked mainly in television productions. Her first television work was in 1964 in the crime series Das Kriminalmuseum , in which she played the role of the neighbor in the episode The Fountain Pen . She then played Millette in the television comedy The Midnight Market (1964) and appeared as a maid in the film drama The Locked Door (1965). In 1967 Schubert was seen in the very first episode of file number XY ... unsolved .

In the early 1970s, she played Alma Brande in the erotic film The Yellow House on Pinnasberg . In the fairy tale film Hansel and Gretel (1971) she took on the role of stepmother under the direction of Rudolf Jugert . In 1977 Schubert was seen in several episodes of the TV series Drei are one too many , in which Rudolf Jugert also directed.

After she was seen as a prostitute Rosa in the Udo Lindenberg film comedy Panische Zeiten in 1980 , she appeared in one episode each of the TV series Großstadtrevier and Der Landarzt in the late 1980s . In 1989 she played her last role as a GDR officer in the film Doppelganger .

Renate Schubert also worked for radio and was active as a voice actress. Her brother was the dancer and actor Herbert F. Schubert .
