Klaramaria Skala , often wrongly listed as Klara Maria Skala , (born January 30, 1921 in Vienna , † June 27, 2006 in Füssen ) was an Austrian actress .

Life

Skala first began to study theater studies and art history. In 1940 she made her debut as an actress in her hometown, where she worked on various stages in the following years: from 1946 to 1948 at Eugen Herbert Kuchenbuch's theater Die Stephansspieler and from 1947 to 1949 at the theater Die Insel . In 1952 she moved to Berlin. There she played in both the western and eastern parts of the city, from the Theater am Kurfürstendamm to the Renaissance Theater and the Deutsches Theater . She embodied roles like "Julia" in Max Frisch's Great Wall of China and "Claudine" in Molière's George Dandin .

From 1942, Skala also worked as an actress for film productions. In 1942 she played under the direction of Willi Forst in the operetta film Wiener Blut , one of the most economically successful films of the National Socialist era . In the drama His Only Love , she embodied Franz Schubert's childhood love Therese Grob. Klaramaria Skala's other films include the DEFA production Career in Paris based on Honoré de Balzac and the Heinz Erhardt comedy Willi will rock the child .
