The 1,248 m high Blomberg is the local mountain of Bad Tolz and both locals and day-trippers from the region a popular hiking destination. It can be reached by a short but sometimes steep hike or with the help of a chair lift.
Location and surroundings
The Blomberg is located in the Bavarian Prealps on Wackersberger Flur. The managed Blomberghaus is located at 1203 m . There are also two summer toboggan runs (length: approx. 1300 meters each) and, since mid-2008, a climbing forest .
Immediately to the south is the 1348 m high Zwiesel (also Zwieselberg). Blomberg and Zwiesel are often visited together as neighboring mountains. Likewise, the nearby Heiglkopf , which is also easy to reach from the Blomberg summit . Both mountains can also be climbed with children and are sometimes recommended for this.
During the Würme Ice Age , the alpine gate of the Isartal glacier was located between the Blomberg and the Rechelkopf . Here the glacier moved at a height of about 1000 m above sea level. NN through.
Winter sports
In winter, the small ski area with an old double chair lift and two drag lifts primarily attracts day visitors from the surrounding area to Munich. The 5.5 km long winter toboggan run set up in 1907 is popular and therefore heavily frequented on weekends. A floodlight system is installed on the finish slope, which enables evening skiing. There is also a snowboard fun park in the ski area. Since the 2013 winter season, skiing has been significantly reduced due to the general decline in snow. The former ski slope No. 2 (red) will continue from the mountain station as a marked but not prepared ski route (black) on the previous route. The drag lift near the Blomberghaus was taken out of service much earlier.
